What a fantastic day! Sunday saw our first ever YEOpen Day, when we flung open the doors to both venues, Yeo Valley Organic Garden and Yeo Valley HQ to all you lovely people.
The garden saw a repeat of our annual plant fair with specialist nurseries, seed merchants, veggie plants and also our resident artist, Natasha Clutterbuck, exhibiting her work in the potting shed.
After having a mosey round the stalls and the garden, people could head into the busy garden café where light lunches, tea, coffee and yummy cakes were being served. Although there were some showers, spirits were far from dampened! After all, what are umbrellas made for?
Up at Yeo Valley HQ, we had an array of different local suppliers offering tasters and selling their lovely produce. From cheese and charcuterie, to chemical-free cleaning products!
Visitors were able to look around our different conference rooms, with a short film being shown in our Lecture Theatre of all things dear to us.
Yeo Valley Canteen was jam-packed all day, with people eager to tuck into our tasty lunch menu or the impressive variety of cakes from the servery. We also had our very own yogurts available, showcasing new flavours – British Blackcurrant, Black Cherry, Rhubarb & Custard and Greek Style with Ginger. Did anyone have a favourite?
At both venues there was a chance for all guests to enter a prize draw, with the winner scooping a family ticket to Valley Fest 2015! Lunch for two at Yeo Valley Canteen was also available for runners up. The winner to be revealed soon – keep an eye out on our Facebook & Twitter.
Over the whole day around 1500 people visited both venues, the largest crowd we have ever welcomed to our venues so far. Thank you to all our suppliers at both the Yeo Valley Organic Garden and YVHQ, as we couldn’t have done it without you!
Until next year…
